Rheumatology Research Foundation hosts VIP experience for students and residents
More than 100 students and residents gathered on Sunday for the Rheumatology Research Foundation’s Choose Rheumatology Experience. As part of the Foundation’s work to recruit the nation’s top medical students and health professionals, the event is designed to increase excitement about the field.
Attendees enjoy networking opportunities, guided poster hall tours and presentations that provide an introduction to rheumatology. Attendees include recipients of the Foundation’s ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting Scholarship, which offers complimentary registration and up to $1,500 in travel expenses for students and residents in or from underserved states to attend the ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting.
Cultivating interest in rheumatology is essential to ensuring students, residents, and fellows pursue careers in the field and help fill shortages, both academically and geographically. The Choose Rheumatology Experience is just one of the many ways the Foundation is working to address the growing shortage of rheumatology professionals. The Foundation also offers preceptorships for students and residents to work with an established mentor in the field, as well as research funding for rheumatology professionals from all career levels.
