Session Description:
Axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA) is a chronic immune-mediated disease that encompasses radiographic axSpA (or ankylosing spondylitis) and non-radiographic axSpA. AxSpA is typically characterized by back pain, sacroiliitis, peripheral musculoskeletal involvement, as well as extra-articular manifestations, such as anterior uveitis and inflammatory bowel disease. These can lead to disability, functional impairment, and a substantially lower health-related quality of life. Recently, there have been a number of developments in AxSpA, including an increased understanding of pathogenesis, assessment tools, and new therapies. In this virtual symposium, an expert panel will review the clinical manifestations of axSpA, its management and treatment, as well as recent developments in therapies.

This is not an official program of the American College of Rheumatology.
